Julie Truitt is a Technical Expert Lead II working on the RCORP-TA project at JBS International. She is intentional about creating and sustaining relationships, leading collaboratively, and bringing people together to create and move towards change. She is passionate about helping organizations and communities focus on understanding their own truth and needs and developing their best positive outcomes.
Julie had a 30-year career with the Commonwealth of Virginia, initially working with juveniles in the community and detention settings. She has worked with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, where she collaboratively used her skills to promote and advocate for agency, community, and policy changes. The most recent change focus was related to the expansion of treatment and ancillary services to include Medications for Opioid Use Disorder in the community and in carceral settings. Strategic inclusion related to health equity, the power of harm reduction, and meeting individuals in their comfort space remain a high priority for her.
Julie is a wife, mother, sister, auntie, and grandmother. She enjoys spending time with her immediate and extended family, creating memorable moments, and participating in legacy events.
