Jason has been working for JBS since June 2019. Previously, he worked for the State of Wisconsin managing several projects to include the Medication-Assisted Treatment – Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction, State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis, and the State Opioid Response grants, all aimed at expanding access to evidence-based services and reducing the negative impacts of the opioid crisis within the state.

Jason holds two master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin (UW): a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on trauma and substance use and a Master of Public Administration with a focus on evidence-based leadership and organizational culture (including employee burnout and turnover). Jason is currently completing a Doctor of Education for Sustainability with a focus on the behavioral and medical health field (also through UW). Jason is passionate about helping organizations understand how healthy culture leads to greater program success and better outcomes for both employees and those they serve.

Jason has a wide range of experience in behavioral health, having previously served as the director of an opioid treatment program and a residential detoxification program as well as in roles as a counselor, case manager, and crisis intervention stabilizer. Jason has worked with both youth and adults. He is also receiving training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and working towards being certified to implement and facilitate mindfulness-based strategies in the workplace. Some of Jason’s hobbies include cross-country skiing, yoga, nature photography, playing guitar, and going to the gym. Prior to entering the behavioral health field, Jason served in the United States Marine Corps and is proud to be a veteran.
