Building on Part I of the stigma webinar series and its introduction of a statewide collective impact model for addressing stigma, this webinar delivered the first part of the model that also served as its conceptual framework. This webinar introduced the stages of change and showed grantees how these apply to their target populations. We also discussed how those same principles applied to grantee engagement of community stakeholders and their openness to evidence-based practices that reduce morbidity and mortality related to SUD/OUD.

Dr. Seale led a discussion on communicating OUD needs in your community, building MOUD practice capacity, and other considerations and lessons learned from his work with individuals in rural communities.

This workshop defined SDOH and discuss how they contributed to successful community engagement in rural communities. Case studies were used to share principles, theories, strategies, and lessons learned from implementing teenage pregnancy, SUD, and HIV/AID prevention projects in rural Georgia counties.

Public transit and health care should be closely linked. Often that is not happening. This session addressed how community partnerships between the health care and transportation sectors develop and can be encouraged.

To more effectively address known barriers to treatment for substance use disorder (SUD), policy researchers looked at feedback from 27 community-based programs serving predominantly people of color across the U.S. Beyond poverty and racism, providers describe challenges retaining staff with appropriate language and cultural skills as well as a complex patchwork of social skills.
