RSV 2022 Session 5A: Improving Access to Health Care in Rural Areas: The Case For Collaboration at the Local Level (Day 3)

Posted 6/7/2022 (updated 3/27/2024)

Public transit and health care should be closely linked. Often that is not happening. This session addressed how community partnerships between the health care and transportation sectors develop and can be encouraged. The case was made for collaboration at the local level: looking at useful strategies for health care and public transit providers to build effective relationships and safe services to improve customer-focused mobility to access health care.

This presentation was based on the research conducted through the Transportation Cooperative Research Program of the National Academy of Sciences (TCRP Report No. 223: Guidebook and Research Plan to Help Communities Improve Transportation to Health Care Services).

Presenter(s):

  • Ken Hosen, Principal, KFH Group, Inc.
