The National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW), a program of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), prepared this document to support policy makers, administrators, and service providers. The National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care (known as the National CLAS Standards) are intended to advance health equity, improve quality and help eliminate health care disparities by establishing a blueprint for organizations to deliver effective, understandable and respectful services at every point of patient contact. Adoption of the National CLAS Standards will help advance better health and health care in the United States.

Given the epidemic of increased maternal mortality and morbidity in the U.S., there is growing sentiment on how to mitigate preventable causes, including that of addressing substance use disorder (SUD). This webinar provided information on the complications of SUD in pregnancy, along with methods for effective intervention and management for clinicians and collaborators.
