Pregnant People with Substance Use Disorder (SUD): Strategies for Screening, Assessment, and Treatment Webinar Materials

Given the epidemic of increased maternal mortality and morbidity in the U.S., there is growing sentiment on how to mitigate preventable causes, including that of addressing substance use disorder (SUD). This webinar provided information on the complications of SUD in pregnancy, along with methods for effective intervention and management for clinicians and collaborators.

Learning Objectives:

-Reviewed SUD-related risk factors and adverse outcomes in pregnancy.
-Identified barriers to universal screening, assessment, and treatment of SUD in pregnancy.
-Examined evidence-based practices implemented to assist clinicians with screening, assessing, and treating SUD in pregnancy.
-Gained insight into federal and state efforts to improve care for pregnant people with SUD.
