The University of Rochester Medicine Recovery Center of Excellence is offering free trainings to provide guidance on evidence-based strategies to work through resistance and encourage help-seeking behavior. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Treatment Seeking (CBT-TS) is an evidence-based technique to encourage help seeking among those in need.

This study looks at perinatal care for pregnant people with substance use disorders. Stigma and lack of access to treatment and recovery increases the risk for pregnant people. Results and suggestions from the study include the need to expand OUD treatment training, clarification on child welfare reporting rules, the need to include philanthropic investment, and more.

The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Cohort I tip sheet is a result of collaborative efforts of the NAS Cohort I grant recipients. Drawing on the insights and experiences of our grantees, we identified 9 key recommendations. These tips serve not only as a guiding framework for future NAS cohort grantees but also offers valuable guidance to all RCORP grant cohorts. The Opioid Response Network is making available a new dental curriculum on SBIRT (screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment), an evidence-based approach to managing patients with or at risk of developing a substance use disorder (SUD).
The curriculum was developed for dentists by the ORN grant through a collaboration with the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and the Division on Substance Use Disorders, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NYSPI.
