Peer providers are viable, evidence based, stand alone or additions to comprehensive teams that approach struggle interventions. Peer providers can be appropriate for any environment that have people with challenges ranging from substance use, gun violence, domestic violence to mental health experiences.
Learning Objectives:
What are the certifications that a peer provider can receive? You will walk away knowing various ways peers can show up in the workplace.
What additional training do peer providers need? Information on what trainings would be helpful for peers to be able to support others well will be provided.
How do we find, support and retain peer providers in the work place? Knowing where to recruit peers, how to keep the workplace well for peer will be knowledge you will leave with.

More people are dying from overdose now than at any point in history. Individuals learned about three innovative communication campaigns that challenge stigma, center people who use drugs, and build support for harm reduction as a lifesaving strategy to reduce overdose deaths.

This presentation will focus on the relationship between trauma and substance use as it relates to treatment for women, as well as a discussion of impactful trauma-informed and gender-responsive interventions. The evidence-based interventions will be based on Seeking Safety and Finding Your Best Self models, both of which are present-focused and easily implemented in any treatment setting.

During this webinar, Claudia Jasso, Chief Development Officer for RCORP Implementation grantee, Amistades, Inc. and Janet Ojeda, JBS International Technical Expert Lead will present an overview of the unique cultural context, core beliefs, and value systems that should be at the heart of understanding and engaging with Latino populations. Presenters will discuss how racial inequity, assimilation, risk factors, and historical and immigration trauma have created a landscape where there is a critical need for person centered, culturally respectful and relevant mental health and SUD/OUD supports and service delivery for Latino people. During this session, Dr. Lopata discussed federal/HRSA investments focused on improving the health outcomes for and reducing health disparities among maternal and child health populations. More specifically, Dr. Lopata discussed the multiple programs/interventions funded by HRSA that together work (along with federal, state, regional, and local partners) to improve the prevention, screening, and treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in the United States.

This session shared recent trend data on opioid and methamphetamine use, overdose rates, and the prevalence of neonatal abstinence syndrome in rural places across the U.S. In addition, data was presented on who is treating opioid use disorder in rural places and on the health workforce providing mental health services for rural patients.
