The 2024 RCORP Data Coordinator meeting series began in May 2024, hosted by RCORP-Evaluation (Customer Value Partners), in partnership with RCORP-TA (JBS International). The purpose of this meeting series is to present a deep dive into all aspects of PIMS data collection with an overview of data requirements, data collection, and addressing common data collection challenges with hands-on best practices. This series is geared towards Data Coordinators; however, anyone involved in RCORP grant data collection is welcome to join. This session outlined how the Communities of Practice for Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (COP-RCORP) Consortium created a Disparities Impact Statement (DIS) that encompassed four Ohio counties (Ashtabula, Fairfield, Sandusky, and Seneca) and three HRSA grants (two RCORP-Psychostimulant grants and one RCORP-Behavioral Health Support grant).

This study links parental incarceration to adolescent substance use in rural communities. The data is state-specific and pulls from the 2019 Minnesota Student Survey in which adolescents self-reported experiences. Results concluded that parental incarceration was associated with higher substance use and expanded prevention and intervention strategies for adolescents could help reduce the rates.
