RSV 2024: Breakout Session 4A: Disparities Impact Statement Roadmap: How to Chart a Course for a DIS That Aligns With Your Consortium, Grant(s), and Community (Day 1)

Posted 3/28/2024 (updated 4/4/2024)

Description:

This session outlined how the Communities of Practice for Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (COP-RCORP) Consortium created a Disparities Impact Statement (DIS) that encompassed four Ohio counties (Ashtabula, Fairfield, Sandusky, and Seneca) and three HRSA grants (two RCORP-Psychostimulant grants and one RCORP-Behavioral Health Support grant). The session described the process the Consortium used to create the DIS and how the HRSA and JBS teams supported this work. Through an interactive panel discussion, representatives from the four COP-RCORP communities discussed lessons learned, how the combined DIS is guiding their work to reduce health disparities, and how the process used to create the combined DIS can be used by other consortia.
