Breakout Session 8B: Policy Engagement for Federal Grantees (Day 2)

Description:

Public health professionals can use policy approaches to positively influence population health outcomes; however, many are concerned that they might violate legal restrictions on lobbying. This workshop helped grantees better understand how they can be involved in policy development within the bounds of the law and will include an overview of federal restrictions on non-profit policy-related activities as well as case examples of how peer rural grantees have been able to influence policy in their states.
