The Learning Collaboratives Town Hall took place on September 15, 2020.
The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) hosted the Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B Vaccination Efforts in People Who Inject Drugs webinar last week, September 10, 2020. The session featured Centers for Disease Control and Prevention subject matter experts who discussed the epidemiology of hepatitis A and hepatitis B in people who use and inject drugs and the rationale for the vaccination recommendations. The session also featured several jurisdictions and partner organizations who shared their lessons learned and best practices for reaching and implementing vaccination services in this community.

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed a spotlight on the impact of systemic racism on the health of Black Americans. Long-standing social and economic inequities have contributed to multiple social determinants of health that increase the risk of getting or dying from COVID-19. The first part in our Stopping the Other Pandemic: Systemic Racism and Health series, this webinar explored the impact of systemic racism on the health of Black Americans.

Like all professions, the addictions treatment field is faced with the challenges of employee substance use and abuse and their impact on retention of quality staff. Because the addictions field employees a disproportionate number of individuals – by recent estimates close to half of the treatment workforce – in recovery, the field faces particular retention challenges. This toolkit provides meaningful and practical guidance to the problem of substance misuse among addictions professionals.
