The Rural Health Information Hub's (RHIhub) article covers best practices and emerging models for rural harm reduction programs. Among those featured in the article is the RCORP-TA grantee, the South Dakota State University's program Stigma, Treatment, Avoidance and Recovery in Time - South Dakota (START-SD).

A new article in RHIhub's The Rural Monitor describes the community's understanding of Native culture in Gallup, New Mexico to take an effective, holistic community-wide approach to recovery of SUD. The article highlights a community-wide consortium that works hard to tackle the issue of alcohol and substance use disorders through withdrawal management, peer counseling, assisting with housing, and other services.

This workshop presented strategies to integrate HIV, hepatitis, and sexual health concerns into services for PWID. The session focused on communication skills, assessment techniques, and building motivation to make healthier choices. The presentation looked at programmatic and clinical level integration strategies and offered participants a chance to assess current service delivery models and develop a plan to enhance care.
