The IHS forensic healthcare program was established in 2011 to address sexual violence, and has expanded to include intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, and elder maltreatment. The program trains providers in forensic medical examinations, evidence collection techniques, and in coordinated community response to address violence.

Your First 48 Toolkit is a Durham County resource guide for successful reentry within 48 hours after incarceration and beyond by connecting you to resources and service providers that help overcome the barriers to a successful reentry. Returning to your community with a criminal record can be a difficult task due to the collateral consequence of incarceration that limits access to employment, housing, healthcare, and education.
Your First 48 Toolkit promotes social and economic independence through relationship building, strong community involvement, education and public support. The Toolkit will help you foresee barriers to a successful reentry and identify likely solutions by informing you of who to connect with and what questions to ask.

This workshop will explore the link between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) of individuals with substance use concerns and its impact on their development. We will explore the experiences, perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors that may present challenges in development. We will discuss practical, trauma-informed, outcome-driven strategies that improve the outcomes.

This webinar provided RCORP Psychostimulant Support program grantees with the tools to complete a behavioral health disparities impact statement, to support efforts to address populations in rural communities that have historically suffered from poorer health outcomes and health inequities as a part of the prevention, treatment and recovery of psychostimulants.

During this session, Dr. Lopata discussed federal/HRSA investments focused on improving the health outcomes for and reducing health disparities among maternal and child health populations. More specifically, Dr. Lopata discussed the multiple programs/interventions funded by HRSA that together work (along with federal, state, regional, and local partners) to improve the prevention, screening, and treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in the United States.

The National CLAS Standards are a set of 15 action steps intended to advance health equity, improve quality, and help eliminate health care disparities by providing a blueprint for individuals and health care organizations to implement culturally and linguistically appropriate services. This session provided a general overview of the importance of cultural and linguistic services in behavioral health and evaluate how the CLAS standards can help improve your services.
