The National CLAS Standards are a set of 15 action steps intended to advance health equity, improve quality, and help eliminate health care disparities by providing a blueprint for individuals and health care organizations to implement culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
This session provided a general overview of the importance of cultural and linguistic services in behavioral health and evaluate how the CLAS standards can help improve your services.
Learning Objectives:
- Define health equity, disparities, and literacy
- Introduce the National CLAS standards
- Demonstrate how to implement the CLAS standards to decrease health disparities and achieve health equity
