Joined this panel of former RCORP-Planning grantees as they shared their lessons learned and how they hit the ground running as they completed Planning and embarked on Implementation. Heard from panelists who received Implementation funding as well as those who were able to move forward without dedicated Implementation funding.

Participants learned about rural resources for funding, data, program evaluation, and how to effectively grow the visibility of an RCORP project. The panel explored opportunities to engage with State Offices of Rural Health (SORH), discussed SORH’s top ten resources, and outlined the wide variety of TA and efforts of SORH across the region.

Pharmacists can play an important role in improving access to medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), especially for individuals living in rural areas where health care workforce shortages are pervasive. Learn how pharmacists can provide Medication Administration Services (MAS) and establish Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPA) in coordination with one or more treating health care providers.

During the initial stages of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) implementation, lead agencies of RCORP consortia reported difficulty recruiting new members, building key partnerships, and planning and coordinating RCORP-focused activities. Fortunately, with dedication and collaborative work, consortium growth and engagement became successful at the end of the grant period, as reported by 87.5 percent of the grantees. Findings in the report available for download below are based on qualitative interviews conducted with RCORP grantees between 9/1/2020 and 8/31/2022.
