The report Financing Peer Recovery Support: Opportunities to Enhance the Substance Use Disorder Workforce was prepared for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Financing Reform and Innovation (CFRI) and provides background history of the development of Peer Recovery (PR), including an overview of the current landscape of PR Programs. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institutes of Health has reported that overdose mortality more than tripled for pregnant and postpartum women from 2018 to 2021. Findings from the study referenced by NIDA show that there are significant barriers which can obstruct care for this population living with substance use disorders.

(AHP) has provided a curated resource list for corrections officers and other jail staff members manage the well-being of individuals in jail custody who have SUD.
