Researchers interviewed 20 individuals – clinicians, peer support specialists, cultural practitioners, and others familiar with OUD treatment – in a Minnesota tribal community. The Cascade of Care model measures the quality of outcomes at each stage of treatment, from diagnosis to long-term maintenance, and was first proposed in 1998 as an approach to care for HIV/AIDS.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has updated the 2018 document which outlines best practices for implementing and operating recovery housing. Assisting individuals with recovery housing is critical in the journey of recovery and can lead to the improvement of health, reduce overdose risks, and sustain recovery.

The purpose of this document is to provide detailed guidelines of the Nurse Care Manager Model of Office Based Addiction Treatment program for management of substance use disorders, with particular emphasis on treatment of opioid use disorder with buprenorphine (alone and in combination with naloxone) and naltrexone (oral and extended-release injectable formulations).

This updated TIP reviews what is known about treating the medical, psychiatric, and SUD-related problems associated with the use of cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as the misuse of prescription stimulants. The TIP offers recommendations on treatment approaches and maximizing treatment engagement and retention, and strategies for initiating and maintaining abstinence.

Recovery housing and a social recovery approach offer a broad, holistic, multifaceted strategy for rural or urban communities. The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Cohort I tip sheet is a result of collaborative efforts of the NAS Cohort I grant recipients. Drawing on the insights and experiences of our grantees, we identified 9 key recommendations. These tips serve not only as a guiding framework for future NAS cohort grantees but also offers valuable guidance to all RCORP grant cohorts. This resource aims to enhance effectiveness and increase the impact of all RCORP grantee initiatives.

The IHS forensic healthcare program was established in 2011 to address sexual violence, and has expanded to include intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, and elder maltreatment. The program trains providers in forensic medical examinations, evidence collection techniques, and in coordinated community response to address violence.
