This webinar will provide participants with an understanding of the role of the medical examiners and coroners in the surveillance of drug overdose deaths, as well as the current efforts to strengthen the death investigation system. The "Road Map for Advancing a Recovery-Ready Nation" report examines recovery research and covers issues such as support services, housing, employment, workforce, stigma, etc. The "2022 Workplace Recovery Survey Report" covers background and understanding recovery in the workplace, policies, culture, experiences, and much more.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has updated the 2018 document which outlines best practices for implementing and operating recovery housing. Assisting individuals with recovery housing is critical in the journey of recovery and can lead to the improvement of health, reduce overdose risks, and sustain recovery.

This panel featured diverse faces and voices representing a variety of recovery experience including elements of medications for opioid use disorder, alcohol-free recreation, harm reduction mutual aid, outdoor hobbies, yoga and meditation, recovery-supportive housing, collegiate recovery, 12-step mutual aid, and more.

The data visualization in the National Vital Statistics System, received and processed by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), shows the 12 month provisional number and percent change of drug overdose deaths. The analysis dashboard also shows the provisional number of drug overdose deaths by drug or drug class.

Overdose Detection Mapping and Application Program (ODMAP) is a free, web-based, overdose reporting platform. It is for local, state, federal, and tribal public safety and public health entities working in overdose response, reduction, and prevention.
