The University of Rochester Recovery Center of Excellence, one of three FORHP-supported Rural Centers of Excellence on Substance Use Disorder, has developed comprehensive training on the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) in primary care. This no-cost training prepares providers and staff to deliver evidence-based care to patients. Continuing education credits are available.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the progress made since the release of the Overdose Prevention Strategy (Strategy) last fall. The new data shows treatment capacity, lives saved from overdose, and commitments to long-term recovery supports, as well as a hopeful trend of a decrease in overdose deaths.

This session addressed the critical need to follow the science, what the science is, and how the Randolph County Caring Community (RCCC) has Designed, Developed, and Delivered an evidence-based prevention system in their area. Participants learned how the PROSPER (PROmoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience) model has brought additional partners to its consortium, leading to the use of tested and effective prevention programs.
