September 2023 is National Recovery Month and HRSA’s Office of Women’s Health has a toolkit to support organizations and health care providers that care for women living with opioid use disorder (OUD). The toolkit provides strategies to engage women with OUD, care coordination for support, and other resources.

Rural communities are finding innovative ways to combat dual crises: an affordable-housing shortage and the overdose and substance misuse epidemic. This presentation highlighted (1) federally subsidized housing regulations related to affordable housing for residents with a history of SUD and (2) cross-sector approaches to providing housing and support services to residents in recovery.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Rural Housing Services offers many programs that provide loans and grants to help rural families and organizations with housing and facilities. In addition, the USDA offers program support services through technical assistance loans and grants.

This webinar will describe a unique clinic model called the Center for Inclusion Health (CIH) Rethinking Incarceration and Empowering Recovery (RIvER) Clinic. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a broad, new initiative to connect individuals and families to housing, health care, and supportive services. Total funding of $322 million is a supplement to HUD’s Continuum of Care (CoC) Program, with $43 million for incremental housing vouchers for at-risk households, and $54 million set aside for projects in rural areas.
