Athol Memorial Hospital

Project Summary

NQC3 brings key clinical and community stakeholders together to redesign our region's behavioral health and substance use disorder care, considering its rural nature and building upon existing assets. The project has a continuum of strategies: 1) Treatment- to provide geographically accessible and integrated medical and substance use disorder care; 2) Recovery-offer community supports for high-risk populations and people living with mental health, substance use addictions; and 3) Prevention- to improve community mental wellbeing by addressing systemic and structural risk factors. The project goal is to increase access to and utilization of treatment, recovery, and prevention services for those affected by behavioral health conditions, including substance use and mental health. Early initiation of services can often shorten the length of treatment, reduce the need for more intensive levels of care, and prevent Emergency Department admittance.
