This study provides observational evidence that by training potential bystanders to prevent, recognize, and respond to opioid overdoses, OEND is an effective intervention.

The FDA announced that the manufacturer of NARCAN 4 mg Nasal Spray products, Emergent BioSolutions, has extended the shelf-life of their product from 3 years to 4 years. This new extension of shelf-life was requested by the FDA to help prevent overdoses and reduce overdose-related deaths.

Sonoran Prevention Works (SPW) shared some of its experiences implementing harm reduction in Cochise County, one of the more rural counties in AZ. SPW provides street-based outreach, testing, and peer support; offers training, education, and technical assistance and TA; and engages in local and state advocacy work.
