This study assessed the associations between insurance status and 6-month retention of patients with opioid use disorder on telehealth platforms. Patients whose insurance paid for their care were most likely to still be receiving buprenorphine 6 months after starting treatment. Uninsured patients who paid cash were more likely to be in treatment at 6 months than people with insurance that did not cover their care. Findings showed an association between in-network insurance benefits and retention, which may affect the opioid crisis.

The Providers Clinical Support System - Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder (PCSS-MAUD) is a national project funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide free, comprehensive training, guidance, and mentoring on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of alcohol use disorder.

The Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network Coordinating Office (ATTC NCO) convened the Contingency Management Task Force (CM Task Force) in April 2023 at the request of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The SAMHSA Guidance for Implementation of Contingency Management Training and Technical Assistance was developed by the CM Task Force.

The report Financing Peer Recovery Support: Opportunities to Enhance the Substance Use Disorder Workforce was prepared for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Financing Reform and Innovation (CFRI) and provides background history of the development of Peer Recovery (PR), including an overview of the current landscape of PR Programs. West Virginia leads the nation in overdose death rate and both counties where participants were interviewed for this study were considered to be at risk for an HIV outbreak among people who inject drugs. This study asked the question ‘What on-the-ground environmental factors among PWIH could be contributing to this overdose rate?

In the context of the trends in Oregon SUD metrics and the increasing infectious complications related to IDU in other jurisdictions and their implications for HIV and HCV transmission, we sought to 1) describe statewide trends in IDU-related serious bacterial infections (SBI) hospitalizations overall and by SBI type and drug use diagnosis, 2) assess IDU-related SBI diagnoses among individuals living with HIV and HCV, and 3) and determine the annual costs of IDU-related SBI overall and by SBI type.
