Building on Part I of the stigma webinar series and its introduction of a statewide collective impact model for addressing stigma, this webinar delivered the first part of the model that also served as its conceptual framework. This webinar introduced the stages of change and showed grantees how these apply to their target populations. We also discussed how those same principles applied to grantee engagement of community stakeholders and their openness to evidence-based practices that reduce morbidity and mortality related to SUD/OUD.

The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists established the PMP Subcommittee to provide a platform for information exchange and addressing the need for a standardized metrics for opioid surveillance using PMP data. PMP group members identified a need to provide guidance for new PMP data users. Group members collaborated to write and develop a very comprehensive two-part How To Guide that provides instructions for new PMP data users.

In their new 2022 Clinical Practice Guideline, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides updated evidence and research on the risks and benefits of prescription opioids for acute, subacute, and chronic pain. These include dosing strategies, tapering and discontinuation, comparisons with nonopioid pain treatments, and risk mitigation strategies.
