The report Financing Peer Recovery Support: Opportunities to Enhance the Substance Use Disorder Workforce was prepared for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Financing Reform and Innovation (CFRI) and provides background history of the development of Peer Recovery (PR), including an overview of the current landscape of PR Programs. This report also provides a description of the variation in peer recovery rates, supervision, credentialing, and substance use disorder vs mental health.

This webinar will provide an overview of COVID-19 impacts and vaccination attitudes among SUD populations in Vermont including people who use drugs, patients receiving MAT, and people in recovery. It will outline the methods undertaken to conduct a community-based survey. It will discuss the barriers and opportunities that arose from analysis of the survey and a subsequent consortium workshop.

The MOUD Best Practices Webinar series takes a person-centered, outcomes-focused approach to presenting and discussing best practices in the use of medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), starting with client engagement and initiation of MOUD, patient stabilization and retention in MOUD, and supporting recovery during MOUD. The focus of each presentation in the series will be on the application of best practices to meet your community’s goals for each of the three topic areas, including adapting them to your local resources while maintaining fidelity to their evidence base.
At the conclusion of Session 1, participants will be able to: describe specific best practices related to engagement and initiation of MOUD, connect best practices to the community’s outcomes and goals and adapt best practices to local needs and resources while maintaining fidelity to the evidence base.

This webinar described the unique role of peer support specialists in the CDC-funded pilot project Reducing Overdose After Release from Incarceration (ROAR). The ROAR pilot combines provision of medication for opioid use disorder with support from Oregon Certified Recovery Mentors (CRMs) to reduce overdose risk among women released from prison.

Like all professions, the addictions treatment field is faced with the challenges of employee substance use and abuse and their impact on retention of quality staff. Because the addictions field employees a disproportionate number of individuals – by recent estimates close to half of the treatment workforce – in recovery, the field faces particular retention challenges. This toolkit provides meaningful and practical guidance to the problem of substance misuse among addictions professionals.
