This session presented resources and elements to consider when planning to collaborate with a local jail to establish pre- and post-release programing and coordination of care and services for individuals with SUD. A real-world example was presented by an RCORP grantee showcasing its First Day Forward Program.

In these challenging times, some of our most important problems are intractable. Examples include health inequity, hybrid workplaces, systemic racism, maternal and child health, and a trained and available workforce. In this session, presenters introduced tools to help you lead, even when solutions are beyond your control. They applied those tools to help you recruit and sustain a workforce for tomorrow.

Early exposure to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), (e.g., parental substance use) increases the likelihood of future substance use and drug overdose, resulting in an intergenerational cycle of substance-related ACEs.
