The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has naloxone trainings and fact sheets available for clinicians. The trainings and fact sheets can help clinicians raise awareness about the benefits of naloxone by talking with patients and their family, friends, and caregivers.

A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine organized and conducted a two-day virtual public workshop that brought together data experts, program implementers and evaluators, and other key interested parties to explore data collection efforts, evidence gaps, and research needs on harm reduction for people who use drugs (PWUD).

The FDA announced that the manufacturer of NARCAN 4 mg Nasal Spray products, Emergent BioSolutions, has extended the shelf-life of their product from 3 years to 4 years. This new extension of shelf-life was requested by the FDA to help prevent overdoses and reduce overdose-related deaths.

The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Cohort I tip sheet is a result of collaborative efforts of the NAS Cohort I grant recipients. Drawing on the insights and experiences of our grantees, we identified 9 key recommendations. These tips serve not only as a guiding framework for future NAS cohort grantees but also offers valuable guidance to all RCORP grant cohorts. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) published Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants in 2018. The National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW) developed companion materials that offer information and strategies to support pregnant and parenting people with substance use disorders (SUDs) in the child welfare system.

The toolkit Stimulant Safety: Getting Amped Up to Reduce Harms When Using Stimulants was developed through the CDC-funded National Harm Reduction Technical Assistance Center in collaboration with the NASTAD Drug User Health team and consultants. This resource provides education on the reasons people take stimulants, how to minimize harm, reduce stigma around stimulants, support peoples' positive experiences, the intersection of stimulant use and sexual safety, and much more.
