Principal Standard: Provide effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy, and other communication needs.

The IHS forensic healthcare program was established in 2011 to address sexual violence, and has expanded to include intimate partner violence, child sexual abuse, and elder maltreatment. The program trains providers in forensic medical examinations, evidence collection techniques, and in coordinated community response to address violence.

This Executive Order demonstrates the Biden-Harris Administration’s respect for Tribal sovereignty, and commitment to ushering in the next era of Tribal self-determination by ensuring that Tribal Nations have greater autonomy over how they invest federal funding.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) provides several behavioral warning signs and symptoms you can look out for in children and youth. While certain behavior can be a part of growing up, the warning signs and symptoms listed by the NIMH may be a reason to contact a health professional. Mental illnesses can be treated and talking with your child or teen can help you identify when to see a health professional.
