State and Regional Focused Presentations: State Substance Use Prevention Systems and the National Prevention Network
Presenters will review the structure and function of state substance use prevention systems, describe the role and activities of the National Prevention Network, and highlight rural prevention initiatives.

Presenters explained the role of RH in the continuum of care in this exciting and interactive presentation on emerging topics related to integrating social and medical models of recovery. They focused on emerging issues in rural America resulting from the pandemic, its impact on the rates of substance use disorder (SUD), and use of RH. Presenters emphasized funding for the development of RH, the role of partnerships within the recovery ecosystem, and promising practices involving cross-sector collaboration in housing, corrections, treatment, and recovery supports.

Effective prevention includes Design, Development, and Delivery. This session addressed the critical need to follow the science, what the science is, and how the Randolph County Caring Community (RCCC) has Designed, Developed, and Delivered an evidence-based prevention system in their area. Participants learned how the PROSPER (PROmoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience) model has brought additional partners to its consortium, leading to the use of tested and effective prevention programs.
