Drug overdose is a nationwide epidemic that claimed the lives of over 100,000 people in the United States in the past year. Opioids, either alone or in combination with other drugs or alcohol, were responsible for approximately 70 percent of these deaths. The MOUD Best Practices Webinar series takes a person-centered, outcomes-focused approach to presenting and discussing best practices in the use of medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), starting with client engagement and initiation of MOUD, patient stabilization and retention in MOUD, and supporting recovery during MOUD. The focus of each presentation in the series will be on the application of best practices to meet your community’s goals for each of the three topic areas, including adapting them to your local resources while maintaining fidelity to their evidence base.
At the conclusion of Session 2 participants will be able to: describe specific best practices related to stabilization and retention in MOUD, connect best practices to the community’s outcomes and goals and adapt best practices to local needs and resources while maintaining fidelity to the evidence base

Have you ever felt too uncomfortable or weird (not in a nice way) after taking stims? You could have been “overamping.” Stimulants like crack/cocaine and meth can lead to side effects that are unwanted and uncomfortable or potentially dangerous. Knowing what it is and what to do can help you be prepared if it happens.
Overamping happens when the effects of a stimulant become overwhelming, distressing, and/or dangerous.Overamping is specific to “overdosing” on stims like crack, cocaine, or meth. Using the word “overamping” helps to differentiate from an opioid overdose since they are different in how it happens, how it appears, and how to respond.

This Technical Briefing provides a description of Peer-to-Peer Distribution of Naloxone (P2PN). This is based on six case studies of pioneers of P2PN; three from the UK and three international examples that inform the guidance in this Technical Briefing. This document will inform and be extended following a pilot of P2PN in four sites in England in 2019. These will be supported by small grants from EuroNPUD. The learning from this pilot will help test the model and peer education approach promoted in this briefing.
