This report describes decedent demographic characteristics and circumstances surrounding overdose deaths during January–June 2019 among 25 jurisdictions participating in CDC’s State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS),† and it highlights the involvement of opioids and stimulants, separately and in combination.

The Behavioral Health Data Learning Collaborative presentation will introduce goals of understanding data and data sharing, use of indicators and data sources, and data driven programming and quality improvement. The opioid epidemic is a result of a complex system of varied and interrelated factors. This webinar introduced a systems thinking approach and offers tools to address complex public health challenges. Additionally, the webinar described opportunities for grantees to further develop their capacity to apply systems thinking to a local opioid response.
