The purpose of this document is to provide detailed guidelines of the Nurse Care Manager Model of Office Based Addiction Treatment program for management of substance use disorders, with particular emphasis on treatment of opioid use disorder with buprenorphine (alone and in combination with naloxone) and naltrexone (oral and extended-release injectable formulations).

The Disparities Impact Statement (DIS) template is a deliverable for this project that you will be required to complete. There was a webinar discussing the DIS for all relevant cohorts on November 15, 2022. This webinar provided RCORP grantees with the tools to complete a disparities impact statement, to support efforts to address populations in rural communities that have historically suffered from poorer health outcomes and health inequities as a part of the prevention, treatment, and recovery of SUD/OUD. We strongly encourage you to review these documents or listen to the recording when it is posted to the RCORP- TA portal at a later date. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has published the new resource "Counseling Approaches To Promote Recovery From Problematic Substance Use and Related Issues". This Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) provides guidance to counselors, administrators, and supervisors about recovery-oriented services, supports, and care, allowing them to better serve individuals in or seeking recovery from problematic substance use.

The North Carolina Emergency Department (ED) Peer Support Program enables participating North Carolina hospitals to embed certified peer support specialists in their emergency departments to connect patients presenting with opioid overdose to treatment, recovery, resources and harm reduction supports. This guide is a tool for introducing an ED peer support program in a hospital setting.

This Guide on Prevention of Drug Use and Treatment of Drug Use Disorder in Rural Settings was prepared by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Drug Prevention and Health Branch, in the context of the global project Treatnet II: OFID-UNODC Programme to prevent HIV/AIDS through Treatnet Phase II, with the aim of providing an awareness-raising tool and guidance for policymakers, public health officials, local authorities and other stakeholders in dealing with substance use issues in rural settings in their respective countries.

This technical package provides evidence of the effectiveness of strategies and approaches for supporting successful planning, design, implementation, and sustainability of syringe services programs (SSPs). It provides a broad framework for new and existing SSPs to ensure needs-based service delivery, reduce harms related to injection drug use, and link participants to services that support their health and wellness.
