The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Cohort I tip sheet is a result of collaborative efforts of the NAS Cohort I grant recipients. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) released results of the 2022 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). The NSDUH provides information on substance use and mental health rates in the United States with data on the self-reported use of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs; substance use disorders; mental health conditions; and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. SAMSHA also released a high-level brief of the report with infographics.

The University of Rochester, a RCORP-Rural Center of Excellence on SUD Prevention, has 988 Lifeline posters available for download on their website. The national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline was launched in July 2023 and provides a way for individuals experiencing a suicidal, mental health, or substance use disorder crisis to receive urgent help 24/7. Spreading awareness of the 988 Lifeline is important as it can help residents in rural areas obtain treatment and help quickly.
