A guidebook from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration describes various methods of adapting evidence-based practices for substance use disorder (SUD) to meet the needs of populations who experience barriers in receiving behavioral health services due to a variety of factors including race, ethnicity, geography, income, sexual orientation, and disability.

The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists established the PMP Subcommittee to provide a platform for information exchange and addressing the need for a standardized metrics for opioid surveillance using PMP data. PMP group members identified a need to provide guidance for new PMP data users. Group members collaborated to write and develop a very comprehensive two-part How To Guide that provides instructions for new PMP data users.

This program brief highlights the Alliance for Prevention and Wellness (APW) use of Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) data to target a broad range of substance use prevention and education activities to ZIP codes with the highest rate of overdoses. The information in this document was guided by the vision of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health and lessons learned from a 3-year reentry enhancement project conducted across 3 different reentry organizations. The participating pilot sites were the Resonance Center for Women, Inc., the College and Community Fellowship, and the Institute for Health and Recovery . Using the information compiled through this project, this guide was created by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s GAINS Center for Behavioral Health and Justice Transformation.
