This webinar provided RCORP Psychostimulant Support program grantees with the tools to complete a behavioral health disparities impact statement, to support efforts to address populations in rural communities that have historically suffered from poorer health outcomes and health inequities as a part of the prevention, treatment and recovery of psychostimulants.

The University of Rochester Recovery Center of Excellence, one of three FORHP-supported Rural Centers of Excellence on Substance Use Disorder, has developed comprehensive training on the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) in primary care. This no-cost training prepares providers and staff to deliver evidence-based care to patients. Continuing education credits are available.

During this welcome webinar, FORHP program coordinator and supervisory grants management specialist will review program guidelines and updates, introduce the Technical Assistance and Evaluation Leads from JBS International, and answer initial questions grantees may have to get started with their projects. The RCORP evaluation team will provide an overview of the objectives of the evaluation, the data that will be collected, and resources available to grantees.

The Disparities Impact Statement (DIS) template is a deliverable for this project that you will be required to complete. There was a webinar discussing the DIS for all relevant cohorts on November 15, 2022. This webinar provided RCORP grantees with the tools to complete a disparities impact statement, to support efforts to address populations in rural communities that have historically suffered from poorer health outcomes and health inequities as a part of the prevention, treatment, and recovery of SUD/OUD. The University of Rochester Medicine Recovery Center of Excellence provides information on integrating behavioral health into primary care practices as there are many challenges patients face in the health care system. By highlighting the role of the Behavioral Health Care Manager in rural primary care practices, the hope is to increase access to improve outcomes.

This session began with a discussion of the timeline, PIMS, sustainability plan, and no cost extensions with the Implementation I cohort. The Implementation II cohort joined the discussion and information was provided on sustaining change in communities.
