Using data from 77 harm reduction programs in 25 US states, researchers found that 12-15% of powder methamphetamine and powder cocaine also contained fentanyl although the prevalence varied geographically. Prevalence of fentanyl in crystal methamphetamine and crack cocaine was lower. Heroin and xylazine were also found in unregulated stimulants. Xylazine reduced the ability to detect fentanyl.

The 2024 RCORP Data Coordinator meeting series began in May 2024, hosted by RCORP-Evaluation (Customer Value Partners), in partnership with RCORP-TA (JBS International). The purpose of this meeting series is to present a deep dive into all aspects of PIMS data collection with an overview of data requirements, data collection, and addressing common data collection challenges with hands-on best practices. This series is geared towards Data Coordinators; however, anyone involved in RCORP grant data collection is welcome to join. The Nitazenes Overview resource created by RCORP-TA describes what nitazenes are, how to determine if they are in your community, and how to prevent and respond to overdoses due to nitazenes. Additional resources are also provided to learn more about nitazenes.

The RCORP Data Coordinator meeting series began in July 2022, hosted by RCORP-Evaluation in partnership with RCORP-TA. These meetings provide an opportunity for the JBS RCORP team to work with Data Coordinators and other consortium staff to address topics impacting data quality, reporting and utilization. Discussion in these meetings helps to inform additional webinar sessions and resources, developed to meet grantee needs.

The 2020 National Drug Threat Assessment (NDTA) is a comprehensive assessment of the threat posed to the United States by the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs, the diversion and abuse of licit drugs, and the laundering of proceeds generated through illicit drug sales. It also addresses the role domestic groups, including organized violent gangs, serve in domestic drug trafficking. The most widely trafficked drugs are discussed in terms of their availability, consumption and overdose related deaths, production and cultivation, transportation, and distribution.

The current study examined the accuracy of sensory discernment strategies by measuring study participants’ descriptions of the last opioid injected and checked with a fentanyl test strip (FTS) by that test's positive/negative result. The primary objective was to determine associations between FTS results and descriptions of the illi it opioid's physical appearance and physiological effects.

The Townhall TeleECHO presentation will introduce a monthly interactive opportunity for clinicians and their support staff to address challenges and share solutions and successes to gain confidence in addressing OUD with MOUD. The Behavioral Health Data Learning Collaborative presentation will introduce goals of understanding data and data sharing, use of indicators and data sources, and data driven programming and quality improvement. Open discussion will follow each presentation.
