Researchers assessed whether there was a connection between buprenorphine dose and time to treatment discontinuation when fentanyl is prevalent. The results showed that a 24mg dose of buprenorphine remained in treatment longer than those prescribed 16mg. Therefore, higher buprenorphine doses could be considered to help improve treatment retention.

A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine organized and conducted a two-day virtual public workshop that brought together data experts, program implementers and evaluators, and other key interested parties to explore data collection efforts, evidence gaps, and research needs on harm reduction for people who use drugs (PWUD).

The National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW) developed companion materials that offer information and strategies to support pregnant and parenting people with substance use disorders (SUDs) in the child welfare system.
