This Guide on Prevention of Drug Use and Treatment of Drug Use Disorder in Rural Settings was prepared by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Drug Prevention and Health Branch, in the context of the global project Treatnet II: OFID-UNODC Programme to prevent HIV/AIDS through Treatnet Phase II, with the aim of providing an awareness-raising tool and guidance for policymakers, public health officials, local authorities and other stakeholders in dealing with substance use issues in rural settings in their respective countries.

The telehealth implementation support tool is intended to be completed in around 20 minutes by a jail administrator, who may need input from other stakeholders.
This evidence-based tool involves a self-administered questionnaire coupled with tip sheets on topics related to telehealth readiness, implementation and continuous improvement that stakeholders working with criminal justice partners can use when implementing telehealth for the first time or when expanding their implementation.

The National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care (known as the National CLAS Standards) are intended to advance health equity, improve quality and help eliminate health care disparities by establishing a blueprint for organizations to deliver effective, understandable and respectful services at every point of patient contact. Adoption of the National CLAS Standards will help advance better health and health care in the United States.

Heard from panelists who received Implementation funding as well as those who were able to move forward without dedicated Implementation funding.
