Understanding Adolescent Vaping: Prevalence, Prevention, and Intervention Webinar Materials

Description: 

GHPC's Center of Excellence for Children’s Behavioral Health (COE) presented a webinar titled Understanding Adolescent Vaping: Prevalence, Prevention, and Intervention. 

Vaping among adolescents is a prevalent and problematic issue. The aim of this presentation is to describe the nature and potential consequences of adolescent vaping, as well as effective prevention and intervention efforts. Specifically, attendees learn about the prevalence and effects of vaping among youth (nicotine and cannabis) and become familiar with prevention programs (e.g., CATCH My Breath), as well as potential interventions for adolescents (e.g., Motivational Interviewing).    

Learning objectives:

  • Describe vaping behaviors among youth (nicotine and cannabis) and discuss current prevalence rates and potential negative consequences
  • Explain aspects of effective prevention programs for adolescent vaping behaviors
  • Detail possible interventions for adolescents engaging in vaping behaviors
