This panel discussed the provision of addiction medicine consultation services and clinical care to patients served in rural hospitals in Ohio. Care involves withdrawal management, starting maintenance therapy, and linkage to follow-up care in the community. Also, the panel discussed the implementation of the Addiction and Recovery Mobile Outreach Team (ARMOT) in rural hospitals in Pennsylvania, providing case management and recovery support to patients served in emergency departments. In addition, the panelists discussed the challenges and successes in working with rural hospitals and the education offered to hospital staff and providers.
