RSV 2025: Breakout Session 2D - Recovery Ecosystem Overview: Research Informing Recovery Practices, Services, and Policies in Rural Communities

Fletcher Group shared the development of the Recovery Ecosystem Index, the value and use case. The recovery ecosystem is defined based on examples of developing ecosystems in communities and how communities have used the index. Further, research findings are presented addressing such topics as stigma and the impact on “Not in My Backyard” (NIMBYism) as a barrier in developing the recovery ecosystem. Strategies were identified to address stigma. In addition, examples of program evaluation were described that expand the recovery ecosystem and address quality of recovery programs and services.
