Posted 3/29/2024 (updated 4/4/2024)

Description:

During this session, participants planned to learn how to build trust and break down barriers with hard to reach populations. Presenters shared how they were able to bring together diverse populations such as law enforcement officials, Hispanic, Muslim, and Amish in a rural area. This session highlighted how open communication and meeting people where they are at can result in the community coming together to reduce stigma around OUD, SUD, and the mental health crisis.

Presenters:

  • Christina Blaskie, Leader Community Health Improvement, Parkview LaGrange Hospital
  • Tabitha “Tabby” Frentz, MSW, LCSW, Program Supervisor, Parkview LaGrange Hospital
