Posted 4/1/2021 (updated 4/5/2024)

This webinar will provide an overview of COVID-19 impacts and vaccination attitudes among SUD populations in Vermont including people who use drugs, patients receiving MAT, and people in recovery. It will outline the methods undertaken to conduct a community-based survey. It will discuss the barriers and opportunities that arose from analysis of the survey and a subsequent consortium workshop.

Learning Objectives:

  • How the survey was conducted: reaching people currently using opioids, people in treatment, and people in recovery, as well as the organizations that directly work with those people.
  • The key results from the survey.
  • Understand the barriers and opportunities experienced by SUD populations.
  • A focus on vaccine reluctance and strategies to prepare patient/client facing staff with facts about the vaccines and tools for effective communication.
  • Sharing the results with the coalition and using a structured workshop approach to examine solutions to challenges raised by the survey during the remainder of the pandemic and implications for future systems disruptions.
