Adult ADHD in the Context of Stimulant Use Disorder Webinar Materials

This presentation will examine multiple facets of the disease process of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), including the epidemiology, heritability, common comorbidities, and consequences of not treating. Specific emphasis will be given to treating persons with ADHD and co-occurring stimulant use disorders.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the heritability of ADHD and how this can help target individuals who may be candidates for an assessment
  • Examine the myriad consequences of untreated ADHD
  • Understand the relationship between ADHD and other psychiatric comorbidities
  • Address whether prescribing psychostimulants to persons with ADHD and co-occurring stimulant use disorder places those at risk of relapse on illicit stimulants
