United Way of the Wabash Valley, Inc.
Project Summary
United Way of the Wabash Valley, Inc. (UWWV) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization in west central Indiana engaged in collective impact to address the root causes of key community issues. The Wabash Valley Substance Use Disorders Council Psychostimulant Support Consortium Project will work to directly address psychostimulant abuse/misuse, with a primary focus on methamphetamine, by implementing designated core activities in prevention, treatment and recovery. Major activities include increased school-based prevention programming, life skills training, parenting skills training, cognitive behavioral therapy, and SBIRT training for rural service provider organizations. Increased recovery services will include the implementation of Recovery Café models and contingency management programs at new rural-based recovery residences, as well as increased use of smart-phone technology to expand the recovery eco-system and facilitate better referrals to treatment.
