Project Summary
The Community of Practice Response to Psychostimulants in Fairfield County (OH) will continue a highly innovative approach that empowers high-risk rural Ohio communities to work together to address psychostimulant use across the full continuum of care (prevention, treatment, and recovery). As an extension of previous RCORP-Planning and RCORP-Implementation awards, this project will support the PART (Prevention, Advocacy, Recovery, and Treatment) Coalition in implementing all six core activities associated with the RCORP-Psychostimulant Support initiative. The goals of the project are to: (1) increase access to and engagement in evidence-based prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery services for psychostimulant misuse; (2) increase coordination and collaboration between organizations providing psychostimulant disorder and other SUD services (3) reduce health disparities and ensure equitable access to psychostimulant services; and (4) leverage local, state, and federal resources to support implementation of activities, strategies, and programs to address psychostimulant misuse. A key focus of project is on sustaining the local consortia and core activities beyond the project period and leveraging additional federal, state, and local funding streams. Through a community of practice approach, Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service will support the local consortia with wrap-around training, technical assistance, and evaluation services to ensure the project’s goals are met through a work plan that prioritizes equity and sustainability.
