Project Summary
The Communities of Practice Responses to Psychostimulants (COP-RPSS) project will continue a highly innovative approach in Seneca and Sandusky Counties in Ohio that is empowering high-risk rural Ohio communities to address SUD and psychostimulant use across the full continuum of care (prevention, treatment, and recovery). The COP-RPSS project will extend and complement ongoing RCORP-Implementation work by supporting Seneca and Sandusky Counties in implementing all six RCORP-Psychostimulant Support Core Activities. The COP-RCORP consortium will (1) increase access to and engagement in evidence-based prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery services for psychostimulant misuse; (2) increase coordination and collaboration between organizations providing psychostimulant disorder and other SUD services (3) reduce health disparities and ensure equitable access to psychostimulant services; and (4) leverage local, state, and federal resources to support implementation of activities, strategies, and programs to address psychostimulant misuse. A key focus of COP-RPSS is on sustaining the COP-RCORP master and local consortia and core activities beyond the project period and leveraging additional federal, state, and local funding streams. PIRE will support community consortia with wrap-around training, technical assistance, and evaluation support to ensure all project and reporting requirements are met. Because COP-RPSS includes two local consortia in emerging capacity rural communities, proposed implementation, evaluation, and sustainability activities and processes will prioritize equity and be culturally competent, locally-driven, and owned by the participating counties.
