County of Adams

Project Summary

The goal of Together We Care is to use the power of community to strengthen and expand prevention, treatment, and recovery services for individuals who misuse psychostimulants, ultimately decreasing the prevalence of psychostimulant abuse and enhancing access to treatment, and the success of that treatment, in rural Adams County. The preventative efforts will lead to better identification of children impacted by trauma and mental health needs, known risk factors for the development of substance use disorders, and help mitigate those needs. Lastly, the initiative will better inform the community about psychostimulant misuse and abuse to reduce stigma, foster an environment supportive of community members in need seeking recovery, and promote screening of at-risk individuals for infectious disease.
