Project Summary

This project pairs Middle Tennessee State University Center for Health and Human Services with Cedar Recovery Addiction Treatment Center to expand Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services to six previously underserved HRSA-designated rural communities. Through this partnership, a new physical location will be established in one HRSA designated area and a new mobile unit will serve Franklin, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence and Marshall Counties. The new MAT physical location and five counties serviced by the mobile unit will provide services for qualified individuals that present with OUD and/or AUD. CHHS and Cedar Recovery will work to expand and enhance the MAT workforce in these six rural communities through professional development opportunities, and work to grow the existing supportive services in the target communities. CHHS and Cedar Recovery will work to establish a continuum of care to support OUD and/or AUD presenting individuals by building and/or strengthening the local drug prevention and addiction treatment coalitions in the target communities. Additionally, CHHS and Cedar Recovery will host training opportunities for other service providers on how to maximize billing and coding, as well as work to enroll all eligible individuals in health insurance to maximize covered services.
